I put this website together as a document of our AIYEP Journey. I thnk it will be a useful reference for the next generations of participants – and will also serve as an example of the benefits that this program offers.
AIYEP has been an amazing experience that has helped me to develop as a person and to gain new insights into Indonesian culture. AIYEP is a truly life-changing experience and I have so many great memories from the program.
I have also made a number of great friends, both Australian and Indonesian – and I know they are friendships that will last a lifetime. AIYEP is a great tool for developing ‘person to person’ links; it is a great way of providing community development; but most of all, AIYEP is a whole lotta fun!
I have really enjoyed the opportunity to be part of the AIYEP program and it has left me inspired to work further with Indonesia. I am proud of the work that we did during the program and I enjoyed the opportunity to teach people about Australia.
The 2010-2011 program was a successful one, thanks to the Australia-Indonesia Institute (Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade); Indonesia’s Ministry of Youth and Sport Affairs; The Australian Embassy in Jakarta; and AIYEP’s Australian Coordinator, TCN, who did a great job of preparing us for the AIYEP journey.
